Hi Guys stand by for me next adventure. Yes, QSOs -if we manage to make any- count for IOTA (Islands on the Air) diploma, i.e. EU-026 Svalbard. Welcoming your entries… From April 13th till April 23rd I am on a backcountry skiing trip on Svalbard starting off from the norwegian settlement of Longyearbyn towards the russian mining village of Barentsburg and from there heading towards Van Miljenfjord and later returning back to Longyearbyn. During that trip I use my solar powered QRP equipment (FT817 – 5W) to activate Svalbard on 20m at around 14315 Mhz. Skeds are at 19:15, 20:15, 21:15, 22:15 UTC. Please, also check www.dxsummit.fi. You may also report activity there… In addition to the frequencies stated below I will also check 144.300Mhz during my trip. Most likely between 2000-2200 UTC. Some folks asked me about details of my skiing (and DX-pedition) tour. Below is the route I am heading for. I am likely to deviate from this route if time and weather permits. Greenland (OX) is calling again. I am on the move again and will be skiing from Kangerlussuaq to Sisimiut starting Monday March 28th 2011 1500 UTC till Thursday April 7th 2011 1800 UTC. I try to be on air daily 20:00-22:00 UTC at 14290 and/or 14310 MHZ. QRP (5W) operation only. Call sign is OX/DB5MH. Will be operating from batteries and solar cells. Will be listening rather than CQ-ing a lot. Please, give me a CQ… This trip activates IOTA NA-018. Looking forward QSO-ing with you. My first attempts in documenting my most recent trip to Disko Island have materialized. My Disko Island Crossing trip of last autumn is now documented beneath the Part1-PartX links above. Enjoy. Comments are welcome. |
